Pfosphene (http://www.pfosphene.com)

Initially started as a “Photo a Day” experiment in 2005, Jason Pfeifer’s photoblog continues to demonstrate the kind of passion and pure love for photography that many aspire to. You’ll find yourself envious of the journey (certain photos make me yearn for Krakow) and possibly confused by the explanation of the blog’s name!

shutter~log (http://www.i-gloo.org/shutterlog)

Further evidence of the France’s command over the visual world comes from Stéphane Alaimo. Browsing through this blog reminds us of the endless list of beautifully shot cinema that has emerged from this part of the world, and makes us wonder if Stéphane has worked as a scene scout for Jean-Pierre Jeunet or similar.

thenarrativethenarrative (http://www.thenarrative.net)

Wandering round the streets capturing everyday moments can be both an art and a struggle. If this particular brand of spontaneous photography piques your interest, there’s no better example than thenarrative. Features shots from both home and on-the-road, with a broad range of subject matters.

Cute Overload (http://cuteoverload.com)

Though now a widely known site, we have to include Cute Overload as an example of a highly successful photo-based blog (and one we’ve dropped into frequently since discovering it in 2006). If the word “cute” has been used in any social media in the past 5 years, you can find it here (and plenty more besides)!

Metin Selçuk Photos (http://mselcuk.com/foto)

Self-described as a “simple view of my day to day visual experience”, this photoblog is testament to the power of color composition with even the simplest of subjects. This really shows what you can do with a little creativity and an eye for composition.

Digital Apoptosis (http://digitalapoptosis.com)

This is one of our personal favorites, but our own words can simply not do the concept behind this site justice; the photographer’s vision for this photoblog says it all (and much more). Therefore we will direct you to http://www.digitalapoptosis.com/about.html – sit back and prepare to be in awe.

Black & White or Color? (http://www.bw-color.com)

An awesome dual-aspect photoblog which presents each shot in both full color and black & white. If you can spare half an hour, browse manually through using the navigation arrows. But for a bit more overview, choose a year (top of the page) to get a selection of combinations.

Raul Gutierrez : Portfolio (http://www.raulgutierrez.org)

Thinking of taking your camera on the road? Take a look at Raul’s set of projects, divided by journey’s he’s taken and easily slide-navigated to keep a sense of consistency. There are obviously plenty of stories behind these shots, and if this doesn’t inspire you to shoot, it will sure inspire you to travel!
